HIGH SIERRA LIGHT STOCK ESSENCES

Each essence is listed by at least one of its common names, followed by the Latin name (italics). Next is a very brief, condensed description of key concepts for the essence. And finally, all of the channeled information that has come through up to this point. We will be adding new essences and information on an ongoing basis.

This is a particularly sophisticated plant and invokes a desire to set and achieve goals that are long-term cultural, human, high-level ambitions for what is possible. If you think of the yearning of thousands of generations of souls who've been on the planet yearning for a time when we can truly know the freedon and beauty of what the Earth Plain can provide. Now this seems contradictory--Karma dictates that there will be growth cycles, struggles, and periods of opposition and duality but there is a level of Karmic resolution that's reaching Us right now for which this yearning is really focused. This essence is like the ancient thought-form (seed) of desire that is born anew in every generation somewhere, somehow, in a very pure form to re-animate, re-awaken, re-discover the very best that humanity has to offer so that the true depths of humanity's goodenss is never lost.

A powerful stimulant for the imagination, the third eye, and the seventh chakra. It's a harmonizing, uplifting essence and has a strong consistent voice which is unwavering in its sense of what can be achieved yet is extremely flexible and mutable without loosing its identity. Basil is a renewing herb. It speaks with a voice from the herbal kingdom as an integrator of the imagination, and can achieve balance and harmony of the elements. It presents the desire, instinct, or sense of what can be achieved in arriving at an almost orchestrated balance of the elements in one's life, while still moving forward. It's not aggressive but it moves with an innate momentum.

There is an innately deep love of life woven into this essence that wants to awaken, expand, enliven, and scintillate whatever it comes in contact with. It's a very sexual essence from the standpoint of savoring and discovering and drawing out the best erotic flavors, notes, sensations, awarenesses, and feelings. So, in human affairs, basil is ideal for those times in which you want to be able to blend into a harmonic, emotional, spiritual, or social environment without loosing your distinct voice or sense of boundaries. It helps you maintain your sense of authentic self in all situations.

This plant is in service to change. It operates with the higher mental body---specifically: new ideas, new structures, new concepts. It's the ushering in of a new era or new kind of paradigm of existence (deepest form of healing). Or just a new approach and willingness to try new approaches and new ideas. It generally introduces a distinct shift in the whole way of approaching something. Clean, open, clear mind---the ability to change one's mind comfortably and creatively without any sense of doubt or loss or anxiety.

A detoxifier that eliminates false psychic residue that is accumulated by being around people who are not grounded or synergized into their life's purpose and who thrive on lies, manipulation, deceit, and ripping other people off energetically. Somewhat like squaw carpet, it's a subtle synergistic balancer, but functions from a completely different base and devic family. When you walk by it, it leaves a little residue on you that gets in and subtly helps you remember to clear out your space.

This flower could be considered the keeper of the realm of childhood magic. It's the place where love never dies, where your secret friends live, where the best aspect of your early childhood imagination take shape and root in that complete beautiful combination between animal and plant world---mostly plant though the animals join in---but it's the fecundity of the plant world as it moves up into the higher early realms of abstraction that children begin to embrace and visualize what culture might be, or what love is, or what a real friend is, or what purpose in life is. Black-eyed Susan feeds this early stage of imagination and can be one of the most significant re-balancers in any wounding in the 3-7 year old stage of the formative imagination.

Black-eyed Susan also works very well with grief. In the early stages of a child's life, grief can be transmuted relatively easily. It's only as it gets into the post 10 year old stage that grief becomes more hardened or more difficult to move within the child self. This essence can move in and like an emollient, it soothes, lubricates, moisturizes the emotions and brings them back to a playful, elegant enlivened sense of what's possible so that grief can be broken up relatively easily. This is an especially significant essence for anyone working with any form of child abuse, severe deprivation, trauma in the family, poverty, environmental crisis/trauma, and in general anything that makes the family go rigid, wooden, metallic, or overly abstract. Black-eyed Susan also works with the adult from the sense of memory. It instills a strong sense of the renewal of memory---the capacity of memory to spring forward and provide hidden secrets. It's the treasure box that's been hidden away in the psyche that can come forward and remember things that once were magical and had been long forgotten in the tedium and day to day dreariness of life.

Ultimately, Black-eyed Susan in the later stages of evolution provides a sweetness of completion. The ability to continually keep finding that thread where life has meaning and this allows the soul and psyche to come to fruition with life's lessons and to have gratitude, ultimately for whatever may have transpired because that hidden realm of the child has been retained and brought to the surface.

This is a plant of compassion. By its nature it does not hold forth with any sense of dominance within the plant realm. While not a particularly fragile plant it is a sensitive and delicate plant. It's hardy without being dominant and basically says "I am about the higher levels of discerning the truth that needs to operate within all situations." It invites you to discover that your heart is capable of entertaining vast realms of compassion that are not necessarily born out through conversation on a day to day mundane level, but actually thrive at the inner realms of higher heart and higher mind. Though not introspective, it deals with the inner realms of conversation with all of life around you.

Blue Flax is a stimulant to the third and fourth chakras and allows a basic rejuvenation of life force to speak truth in ways that are gentle and appropriate. It understands boundaries and integrity and does not compromise for anyone nor does it apologize to anyone. It has a fascinating balance of gentleness and assertion and calls forward the ancient wisdom of being in harmony with the earth cycles, life cycles, and cycles of nature as a point of reference from which to establish strength.

This flower represents introspection, night sky, moon, stars, and Goddess energy. It essentially reflects the inner workings of reality as it starts to be made manifest within the self at the point of courage, but courage with regard to not breaking through things in a harsh way but the courage of the self to risking new things in a gentle and exploratory way. It basically signals you and welcomes you to take risks of the heart, love, and openness. It says " I'm here to beckon you to feel that you are called forth by a higher life force that you may not understand and yet it is a higher life force that will ask nothing more of you than simply be vulnerable to that which you find beautiful and tasteful."

This flower deals with higher thought forms of the innate perfection of all things. It summons up a potent capacity for higher creative idealization, visualization, the more perfected realm of things---the music of the spheres, the perfection of the ancients, the ideals of the gods, the Apollonian perfection of the deities. It gets into many of those subtler things.

There are many ways in which this essence could filter out into forms of human creation and expression. Some examples: the perfection of a given type of wine; Idealization through feng shui---the household design; The harmonization of colors, patterns, textures, within a given environment to focus on a certain intention. This lupine can get prissy and over-refined but used properly, it helps people realize the innate higher idealized potential within any endeavor or within themselves. It can be very good if people are mentally/emotionally balanced to be integrated with their emotions in relationships to help them tap back into the ideal emotional/sexual/mental/spiritual potential within relationship. It really helps things come forward into form by helping to "get it" and "ground it" as if saying "yes, this is possible!" A good essence for anyone wanting to take on this type of path of actualization---gives a lifeline where vision becomes form and the means to make it so. Excellent for creativity.

This essence has a unique function and helps heal the subconscious. It is very much connected to the organic breaking down (think of it as composting) of materials in its environment and how they transmute into other life forms through decomposition and revitalization of that organic matter. Likewise, it works with subconscious material that needs to be broken down. It has alot to do with the insects-the creepy crawlers. It interacts with and stirs up things that decompose matter and it energizes those functions of the subconscious self and helps especially with blockages around the ability to break something down, assimilate it, and move through it in order to be able to understand it and use those experiences to move on. It can transmute crystallized pain, failure, and judgment memory, with emphasis toward really allowing it to dissipate the specific energetic form of experience and let it go into the collective unconscious and create its own renewable subconscious environment.

Bog Mallow will build layers and depth (like organic matter on the forest floor) of rich material as a bed on which one can then process in the subconscious. This flower is a strong healer in one of the least understood and emphasized aspects of what it means to heal. Each soul contains its own bed of unique emotional memory and experience (with a little bit of the collective unconscious) at the subconscious level. With this acceptance, permission, integration, and allowing things to break down, die, change, and grow into new form, there is a link of the subconscious mind to the beautiful processes of the natural world of dark, musty, fungoid, critter-ridden environs that create such fertile ground and material.

This plant harkens to the instinctual nature of humanity to find its place on the planet. There's an innate sense of deserving and belonging that this plant tries to resonate and that in allowing this plant to serve you, what it will bring up more than anything else is the breaking down of the dysfunction of the generational patterns of not being in the right place at the right time. This plant is very gentle while possessing a strong core assertion of simply deserving.

This essence works specifically with the throat chakra to aid in communication of truth and courage, addressing and getting completion on old issues through communication. It's about the liberation of completing things and brings about a tremendous amount of security and wholeness that you create for yourself and what this experience of completeness gives you---when you are done with something and no longer carrying it around inside. It gives you the ability to clean and sustain internal energy better.

This essence aids in the powers of neutrality and observation. It is very grounding and helps ground within a person's innate confidence or their elemental self connects to the earth so they have a good foundation upon which to be neutral and observe things. It's good for people who are new or on the threshold of establishing a higher level of neutrality. It's a very transitional essence and is not to be used all the time as people could become detached from what's actual happening in life. But for times when neutrality and observation are key missing components in getting whole within a situation, it helps the nervous system move into that process successfully.

This flower resonates into the second and third chakras. It brings a sense of tactile, sensuous pleasure and sweetness to the process of evolving one's will on the planet. If you've had to go through heavy drudgery, hard work phases to assert your will, this essence will help to move you up to the next octave or tier of easier and more pleasurable assertion of will and harmonize with those around you and within your situation. It can help bring about gentle resolution where there is conflict of will or disagreement so that it helps collapse drama around the emergence of someone's will. It's a good boundaries booster, harmonizer, and energizer.

This essence speaks to the nobility of the soul and is primarily concerned with the flexibility of the soul in times of tremendous change within a culture. Within the healing realm it restores to the subconscious a sense of greater context of the potential of humanity. This is specifically important in any post-war era in which humanity's sensitivity and innocence has been traumatized or put through such an ordeal that the expansive, almost luxurious stages of a stable culture are long forgotten or the memory is dulled to a point of forgetting.

California Poppy touches the soul in its aspiration to reach the highest collective potential and in the reminding the soul that this exists, it often can be the spark-plug in the healing stage that reminds us why we're even here among other people. It allows the soul to briefly recapture an incredibly elegant and noble, yet simple presentation---not adorned or ornate or high-flown, but the later stages of a civilization---that point in any culture right before it peaks, when everything swells up and recognizes that it has reached a point of ultimate flowering and can't really do a whole lot better.

This essence is a good tonic for grief and sorrow. There's tremendous strength within the seeming fragility of its plant. There's a vibrant life energy within it that seems somehow to not quite fit the form of the plant itself. There's an abundance that is carefully distributed throughout the plant in such a way as to appear almost delicate. This serves that stage of grief when one is feeling lost vulnerable and most in need of some very gentle renewal of the life wish and willingness to engage with some of the higher aspects of creation itself to strive for something higher. It's a gentle bridge of flower essence energy. You could almost think of it as a kind of incense because it touches one in such a soft and delicate place. So it's best used in a synergistic grief formula as one of its best and most important uses. A secondary use is in the elimination of toxins---emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual---because sometimes toxins require different qualities of release to become active and begin moving. The purifying and renewing aspect of Calliopsis will assist in the overall detoxing process.

This plant is about celebration. Its like the champagne of flower essences in that it is about taking the time and honoring the ritual of celebration, gratitude, and self-honoring. This shifts over into self-recognition and self-acceptance but more toward the fulfillment of intentions and the ability to truly recognize your own uniqueness and what you've done to make that happen in your life---successful vision. It's a good essence in a formula for completion---rounding the last bend, heading for the finish line. It gives a sense of what this whole process is for and why we commit to deep, long term cycles, goals, and experiences. The yin/yang aspect is played out with follow-through on a linear path (A-Z) but with an emotional commitment and spatial sense of getting it (the more mundane aspect) done.

This essence is about vision, courage, tenacity, strength, determination, roots, confidence, originality of soul (vision and emotional experience). It assists with well-informed courage or daring to risk everything you've got because your heart knows you've got to go in a certain direction and there's no walking away from it---you really search your heart and listen to who you are (conviction). It serves vision and that aspect of clearing inner sight.

This essence teaches us to grab life experiences when they're in front of us and savor them for all they're worth---go for the gusto. It celebrates the transient beauty of life and how to cherish, worship, love, and bask in change. It cultivates the quintessential wisdom, celebration and full embracement of change and death/rebirth experiences. This can be a very good essence for grief or being afraid of the nature of change. It can heal the kind of loss or wounding that comes from experiences like if you once grasped some beauty and it slipped out of your hands and you feel that it'll never come back again. It's also good for people who have had brief higher octave or third eye experiences and have glimpsed the beauty of creation and are then crushed by denser stuff, feeling as if they've lost their way---like a visionary breakthrough that they don't know how to integrate.

This plant is relentless for a specific reason. It stands up in the face of judgment. It asserts itself relentlessly as a forgotten part or voice of what once was considered beauty in the elemental realm and is now forced to conform into an over-populated, over-mechanized, over-industrialized, over-routinized life existence. This isn't to say that life in other cultures didn't have its routines, but we're talking here about a loss of imagination---this is the price of a certain form of "progress".

Dandelion is prolific, relentless, you might even say eternal in its life force. It has a strong, astringent quality and is linked to the healing greens of the food realm in that it purifies, stimulates, rebalances, and pulls out negative toxins from the psyche and subtle bodies. But it also does something even more complex---in its capacity for regeneration, it is very important to realize that dandelion speaks similarly to black-eyed susan, though from an entirely different point on the circle of healing. It addresses that realm of the childhood imagination that is profoundly prolific in the sense of eternal variation of life forms.

Dandelion is a survivor, one of those plants that can adapt almost infinitely to its environment and it's here to remind us that there are aspects of the world itself that have been forgotten and need to be remembered. Dandelion wants and deserves gratitude and respect. So, for people who's sense of self is deep---for the old souls who may have a long forgotten gift that they may want to bring forward, it's a very powerful voice of creativity that has been paved over (if you will) by the simplicity or single-mindedness of a busy culture.

The primary function of this cleansing essence is to strip away elemental energy that is improperly bonded into the cells, bloodstream, and organs. It helps restore properly grounded life-flow to a living system such as the body. As a master cleanser it contains knowledge of the blueprints of harmonious functioning of vital living systems. It allows the body to receive and assimilate a wide variety of Earth and Heaven energies in order to prepare for an influx of new life direction, awareness, and discernment.

This flower is about connecting with higher Angelic realms. It has very strong, vital, forceful energy and assists us with recognizing the love that permeates the Earth plain and allowing Angelic energy to become a part in our Earth plain experience. It facilitates the opening up to those energies and experiences to hold a strong energy field around us. It can also assist with mental cleansing, healing old wounds, forgiveness, release, relaxation, and getting out of mental obsessions like old negative pictures and crystallized thought-forms---almost like a heart laxative. For women, it can aid the emotional aspect of menses where it tends to flush out or focus on unfinished issues, judgments, and harshness.

This essence is about being seduced in a healthy way by something---new radiance, luster, emanation of life, beauty, sexuality, passion, feelings, sensualness. It draws toward you those things that will help you shift into experiencing in those ways. It definitely can bring back experiences that allow passion to circulate in heart, emotions, and body. It opens these energies up and makes them available for the purpose of exploring new aspects of soul initiation and whole new cycles of soul coming into the body through the refined arts of pleasure---not just sensual pleasure, but literature, cooking, any arts. It allows one to be seduced by multiple arts of life that soul energy can hold and convey.

This plant deals with the dispersion of elements. It beaks up energetic blockage in the body due to things like judgment, false habits, rigidity, stuck energy, restrictions of childhood energies, and social or economic restrictions. It's wonderful for loosening up first, second, and third chakra, earth oriented basic survival needs like negative thought forms, imprinting, heavy density with regard to city environments, desensitized environments, and getting new energy flowing through and opening up in preparation for connecting with higher planes. It's almost like an emotional/mental laxative in that it's a good fundamental essence for starting new projects, or setting out on a new course in life, or approaching stuck situations and trying to find the easiest, most appropriate balance and well-lubricated movement through that experience. It definitely has the fiery element and invocation of change, assumption of new thoughts-forms, invitation and wearing of new thought-forms. There are other plants that are more fiery in these terms but fireweed gives an early awakening and comprehensively gentler (not quite baby steps), breaking loose intentionality.

Higher magic and evolution. Caution: Not for people with severe emotional stress or trauma.

This is very much a seventh chakra essence. It brings in elements of higher magic or touches into the realms of higher magic---the rules and organic, innate laws of magic and how it works and develops. With individuals, it calls in their highest blueprint of evolution and manifestation and can often (if person isn't focused) generate some disturbances for those who have shied away from embracing the higher aspects of self. This is a very potent essence and should not be used by anyone with a recent history of severe emotional stress or trauma. It's one of the most evocative essences and can almost be a hallucinogen. It helps one to see through third-dimensional patterns into the higher realms of magic and how things are truly organized as they come into manifestation to the material plane. It can help rebalance when there's too much negative energy in a particular area or too much industrial or etheric pollution. It can cut through karmic inertia and wants to be used in a process of mastery. It also works on the sixth chakra for perceiving higher patterns of manifestation---it trains you to know when to call forth and invoke the power of magic. It's a potent doorway essence into discipline.

There is a playful side to Fringed Grass of Parnassus---for those who are comfortable working with higher realms of magical manifestation, it brings forth a sense of relaxation, trust, play, and feelings of instinctual comfort with ancient and newly emerging patterns of Earth magic that want to come forward and assist us in evolving. This plant is linked to Ravens. People need to be in their bodies when using this essence, otherwise it cannot help them. Do not take this complex, highly evolved essence lightly!

Edible garlic has a very powerful connection (not unlike dandelion) to a deep realm of elemental memory. It needs to be understood as one of the great solvent elementals. It has the power to reduce illusion into its pure form of truth and to take things in the body itself that are out of balance or over balanced in a specific direction and brings them back into an essential truth of body function. Likewise, garlic for the psyche has the capacity to take fear and dissolve the more abstract or obsessive forms of fear into more elelmentally digestible root emotional experiences free from the hyperbole of culture itself. It functions as a constant---stripping away arrogance and pretense and false, aggrandized forms of indulgence on every level of the human psyche. It balances back to the pure elemental truths of existence itself. It deflates the over inflated balloon, drains the over inflated imagination. It heals over-energized meridians.

Garlic is uncompromising in its capacity to cut through illusion and bring it to its root element in terms of truth of the human experience as it was intended to be experienced through creation. What is meant by this is that every emotional, creative aspect of the human has its ideal balanced, presentation and this is similar to what was spoken of in terms of California Poppy of the ideal point in culture when everything flowers and finds its proper balance. That occurs only when a culture listens to its true nature, honors it and never deviates, and lets it blossom correctly. Garlic is an anchoring essence into that kind of process.

If you had group conflict or any kind of conflict---garlic is very powerful---it can reduce conflict to the pure truth of what was there in the first place, which is very often hidden in the later stages of conflict or polarization where fear, judgment, blame, shame, and avoidance have taken root. Garlic helps the psyche come back to the pure sense of what ultimately matters the most. It helps one prioritize (back down to irreducible elements of a good life lived in balance) with the individual self not having to come forward too much but can relax within a greater balance of many individual selves who are in concert or harmony with the greater good of a situation. Garlic, therefore is also an evolutionary essence because the greater good of any situation is rarely stable for long, especially in our time. Garlic challenges us to take on the tremendous complexity of our culture at this time and to begin to visualize from our core digestive emotions of life itself---where we assimilate life experiences---what actually might be attainable.

Garlic flower is a part of the garlic elemental that said "Let me go forth and talk to humans in a different way". It is a sweet presentation of the garlic force and in essence is the first stage for souls who are afraid of the true reducing power of garlic. Garlic flower is appropriate for those people who might be new to the process of disengaging from cultural illusion. For example, an economically over-active culture in which lifestyles are pursued to the limit of endurance and activity...People in that situation, their nervous systems certainly are not capable of receiving everything that garlic can give so the Garlic Flower is an excellent, more subtle, more mentally attractive way of presenting this deeper truth. It could be considered Garlic's more elegant emissary or ambassador.

This is another one of those deceptively simple plants that actually works heavily with the third chakra---assertion, focus, and knowledge of will---mastery of will. It is an upper level, advanced stage essence that should be integrated into the practice of those who have really had a vision of where they're going and want to bring their will into deep harmony with that vision and to allow that will to operate on a steady level of higher heart, higher mind. It's an uncompromising essence and very demanding in its own right. While appearing quite gentle and small, it's depth of perception is incredibly intricate. Some of the gayophytums have either a more masculine or feminine or child flavor---this one is male. They all trend to work on the same thing from different points on the wheel.

This is an essence which is related to song/music/tone/dancing. It has a somewhat astringent function in that it wants to eliminate or clear out harsh, negative, unbalanced, fearful thoughtforms through the subtle evocative pleasure of music---not powerful orchestral music---more like music of a meadow on a beautiful afternoon when the air is full with scent and moist and the earth itself is breathing, the birds and animals are all engaging in this interaction of elemental life forces. German Chamomile at this point begins to find its real radiant identity.

This is a subtly radiant plant energy that works with the circle or the idea of spokes radiating out equally from the center. It therefore can be used (if you think of life or health as a radiant circle of life-force energy) to experience spirituality, or culture, or any of the circles of self, from the tightest core circle to the most expansive circle of the universe. This essence is a stimulant to remember what radiance feels like. Radiance is the egoic self filled with all life. It's the celebration through the egoic choice to feel and embrace all the radiant aspects of life itself: sensual, beautiful, harmonic, and so on. It wants to move into celebration through song and the realization through tone.

So, German Chamomile is a very versatile essence from this standpoint: (let's say there is a midline of health) if one is above the midline, it will inspire an outward radiance. If one is below the midline, it will pull the subtle body energies back into a cohesive pre-radiant emotional reconnection and will assist the soul to embrace the potential for radiance once again.

This functions in a different way from flower essences. As a root force, it helps to root you in your core, unique truth of who you are and touch into the internal, timeless, continual aspects of self as well as that which is dynamically changing and evolving. It helps to find the root relationship of those two aspects of the self and connect, re-ground, and energize them. It's a potent energizer for wisdom within change and strength within transformation. It helps clarify the thinking process by linking them to deep knowledge within the soul/self/essence. It purifies the relationship between change and the constant truth of self---such as, if we're all like unique snowflakes and that pattern is always who we are, ginger root helps us bridge the pattern with parts of our lives that need to change and want to change and help create willingness to embrace change and find energy within it to metabolize and internalize change---know what it's for and be comfortable with it and grateful for it.

The purpose of groundsel essence is to stimulate the nervous system into receptivity to be in connection with all of life around you and recognize that there is a safe and meaningful pattern to all of life and that the drama that ensues in the day to day aspects of the larger human civilization doesn't necessarily have to uproot your connection with the earth around you. It's not a higher octave frequency as such but it is a calmative and definitely brings forward a sense of safety and familiarity. It embues the body and nervous system with the sense of continuous (almost repetitive), familiar, meaningful, ritualistically, healthy patterns of energy.

This is a grounding flower and operates with the first, second and third chakras to bring the physical body into a state of openness, acceptance, and relaxation with the flow of day to day life in relationship with people and events around you. It can help release the anxiety of separation or being different or being alienated. It will move into the heart to reassure the heart that there is a true connection with all life at all times, even though mentally it may not be apparent or obvious. The gentle calmative quality of this essence is much like the kind of energy you might get from grandparents tucking you into bed. It makes you realize that it's perfectly okay to be here and that for the most part, life will be established on the planet for the good of all.

Horsetail isn't entirely what it appears to be. It has a very interesting medicinal use in terms of essences and that is for continuity. Horsetail, in and of itself has maintained a relatively ancient version of its own species. The deva, nature, and structure of the plant has not altered radically for some time and even though this can be said of many other plants, horsetail energetically holds an aspect of continuity in the environments in which it grows. Think of this as a flowing continuity and often what is required for people who are experiencing fragmentation or a sense of too many life changes without any clear continuity and a deep lack of "flow" within events (interconnecting flow which unites events) within a person's soul experience. Horestail is important to bring about a strong instinctual, guided sense of that flow and it's almost more of a mental journeying type of plant. It definitely has some shamanic capabilities.

When brewed as a tea, horsetail is quite good for a slightly altered state sinking into a deeper sense of trust that the flow and certainty of all events serve one's highest purpose. The presence of silica in the horsetail plant structure is significant. Remember that crystals consciousness within the life-form of the Horsetail is alot more powerful than it would appear to be. This is not a plant to be underestimated. Even though the essence is not one of those which we would call extremely powerful, if used with intention, it can bring about a deep sense of reunion with the deeper flow of incarnated intelligence on the planet.

This plant is about speaking your truth and an integrity that is not so much based upon past evidence of intent but a quality of the heart taking risk that is the heart unfolding into a higher sense of purpose. It speaks to that aspect of humanity that desires to realize that it is in service to something bigger and may not know quite how to understand or define just why but the tentative heart says "I must feel something new and I will become a part of a bigger momentum, bigger pattern context, and reality of emergence on the planet". It also speaks of the sweetness of the soul coming forward with its unefforted emergence into day to day reality. It does not in fact address any specific abuse issues but it is best called a tonifier of intent.

This is a very cool essence! It connects where the sun, wind, water, rhythms, and cycle of seasons are eternal and it's about confidence in Mother Earth and in tremendous feminine Earth wisdom--sort of the invincibility of it. It's about the fact that those forces are ordained from levels of creation that are a very complex, beautiful wisdom that emanates through that and helps touch into that to begin to work from a very high plane. The little flower is reaching up etherically and almost flying through wind, clouds, sun and taking all that energy in and distilling it into its essence. Like the eternal truth--it's feminine, gratitude, confidence. These cycle exist and have existed forever and they outlast everything else. To stand in relationship to those forces and feel them as part of the meaning and context of your life puts you into position of confidence and gratitude from an expansive overview of what's actually taking place.

This essence works more with the mental body assisting in changing belief systems and direction in life with relaxed open-mindedness--more of a listening. It's best used synergistically with a more potent, higher heart and mind initiator essence. It adds a calm stability that allows you to start playing with change and not to analyze it too much. For a calmer mental experience that's grounded in the heart and emotions that's a self-evident truth that you can begin to integrate and act on.

Lilac can be mistaken for being ornamental but it hardly is such. Lilac is poetry---that aspect of life which is unfettered by dense, survival oriented concerns. It is a voice of the soul, free to experience not just the beauty or meaning of life but it inspires the emotion of elegance---elegant portrayal of experience. It is extremely versatile in the sense that it can address the darkest to the lightest experience but it empowers the voice of the soul to acquire a sense of elegance in addressing any aspect. In that sense, lilac could be compared to the technique of the ballet dancer who is full of self-knowledge so that the body can express virtually anything.

This flower actually imposes a certain quality of discipline, oddly enough, and through the discipline of self-knowledge or self-expression, a person is free to take on more complex portrayals of anything from the most intensely painful to the most exhaltedly exquisite experiences in life. This essence is truly about a heightened form of creative expression. It will, in and of itself, lead to gratitude but it does not stimulate gratitude. It stimulates the emotion of a complete and relaxed understanding and communication of any situation. Therefore, it is ideal for times in the healing cycle when one is coming into completion and would like to be able to capture the full range of what this healing cycle has embodied for personal edification as well as to restore a sense of relationship to life around the person coming out of the healing process so that people can have their sense of appreciation touched by the elegance of the portrayal of the experience.

In coming out of a healing crisis one of the most challenging aspects is to make other people aware, understanding, and sensitive of the difference of what has just taken place. All too often, people come out of a healing crisis and try to assimilate too quickly into life. Lilac addresses the subtlety of that transition from rehabilitation, recuperation, and healing back into being active. It specifically works within that area of communication in which one's sense of identity re-engages with life and establishes a sense of value and worth of the internal processes that have been experienced.

There's alot going on with this tree around assertion, standing your ground, and clarity of position and ideally, of creating a high degree of integrity within that position. It ameliorates being of great support to oneself and others through that integrity and stance and can aid in any stage of that experience whether just starting to get that grounded, standing ground type of integrity or you're polishing and pursuing it to a very high level. It truly can facilitate the entire journey and as such it's about crossing new threshold of experience based on reaching that level of standing your ground for yourself---being clearly rooted in that self-assertion and trusting the self to follow wherever that takes you and be open to that experience.

This plant is about renewal and the cycles of nature---that which sustains us over many cycles year to year, death and rebirth. It assists us in being able to connect to the deeper life forces and the god force and building that connection so you start to sustain a grounded persistence and sense of durability. Physically it works with the adrenal and kidney to rejuvenate those organs and meridians. It can help to eliminate a certain level of stress brought on by the disconnection from the nature cycles. Long term vision seems to be more relaxed and you don't sweat the short term changes nearly as much.

This plant has many uses beyond the essence itself. This is one of nature's primary and potent healers. Where the leaves connect into the stems, there are vital juices that are very potent and powerful and giving. It's one of the devic smart plants that gives off alot of life force. This beautiful essence is about self-knowledge. It operates best with those who have (like the stems and leaves of the plant) worked their way up the self-healing practices and given themselves that rebuilding touch of self love. These arnica blossoms act very powerfully within the third eye to see oneself and know oneself from the inside. It's a potent realizer and clarifier of the soul's relationship with the body, personality, heart, and especially family memory and knowledge of oneself and boundaries in that family experience being it negative, positive, or neutral. This particular arnica is best used in spiritual realization and self awakening combinations.

This essence is about allowing the primal force of celebration to come up through the self and to permeate the psyche. It's similar to Bog Mallow in that it allows you to start establishing identity on successfully breaking things down and recycling experiences to build your own unique foundation. Goldenrod emerges out of successful process that the Bog Mallow initiates. It's excellent if you're coming out of a long cycle or series of challenges and you're looking to or in the process of becoming complete. It helps you feel the celebration of achieving a complex, difficult goal and being energized by it. Working through the intense color, this is a strong energizer that works well with all chakras as a tonifier, helps realign our sense of purpose on the planet within a context of different challenges, realigns us with that primal life-force that is inexhaustible and moves all changes, circumstances, and experiences. It's good for courage and also carries a certain quality of serenity in feeling necessity for change and the vitality of change itself---the dynamic aspects of change and challenges.

This essence basically allows you to contain yourself within where you can let go and trust the way you were designed to move in your body on the earth plane as a natural force of knowledge, change, growth, and grounding. It's a very kinesthetic essence and promotes that healthy containment of going within and trusting what you find, but it's really about being in movement with life. (not like the Tarot Hermit-isolated loner-card) It's more about knowing how to go inside, feeling the body (good for breathwork), and containing the self within the natural flow of energy in the body, getting to know it and trusting it as it comes out and moves through life and being able to stay contained, confident, centered, and grounded while experiencing that. It's good for a competing athlete, instilling a rhythmic sense---getting up in the morning, getting centered and in tune with the self and sensing where you're going to go throughout the day and be well-anchored, knowing what that process wants to feel like.

Monkshood is about devic inner wisdom through the process of being well contained, trusting that, and knowing how to stay in balance with that over time so that more self-trust and referencing the self within the physical day to day activity, organizing flow and creating structure can come forward. This naturally will create healthy boundaries because of the focus and harvesting the accumulated wisdom that comes from completion and successful actions---self-wisdom through grounding, movement, completion, and assimilation, and coming back with moving meditation.

This is an Excellent essence to be used in any kind of recuperation, whether it's post operative, emotional, physical, mental, or spiritual. It facilitates heart rebuilding and depth of a healing process. It gently insinuates feelings of many other realms of sensation, knowledge, connection with life forces in a relatedness of all things. It's about rediscovering life and the meaning and goodness of life. This is an essence that energetically hugs or holds you, grounds you, and gives you a reassuring touch from the devic realms. It does not impose itself in any way. It's a little bit like "chicken soup" type of energy in that when you're recuperating from anything, moonbeam coreopsis is a wonderful strengthener for connecting with life all around you. Its beauty is that it very gently holds relationship to all these realms.

This flower has more to do with seeking out adventure. It tends to function in the mental body as an opening up to new ideas. It has a spark of more boldly, dramatically, and risk-oriented breaking out of old patterns, belief systems, ideas, and is good for the spontaneous doing of new things with the intention of learning and expanding and opening up to new experiences and making that a new part of your life

This is another astringent essence that tends to go more into the first, second, and third chakras. It cleanses out that which is false and not in alignment with our highest purpose. It stimulates change in that direction as well. It clears out residue from negative experiences and in doing so, the tendency to go back into old behavioral patterns based on that residue. It can be a mental calmer, clearer, and stabilizer if there isn't any enormous amount of emotional clearing to be done. But mainly, it's a very potent instigator for emotional clearing.

Justice, discernment, balance. Grasp greater objective truth, dissolve attachments

This is a very complex and often misunderstood essence. Pennyroyal actually deals with justice. Not justice in the sense of punishment or balancing elements of a situation but it is justice by invoking a discernment into what is objectively true in the whole of any given situation. This very often (this objective truth) is difficult to obtain and is more often considered something that doesn't even exist. Therefore, pennyroyal often is trivialized into its lesser roles of catalyst. But when it's allowed to function properly it wants to reach that form of what we consider the ideal image of the blindfolded woman who holds the scales of justice. It allows us to objectively weigh the truth and find within it, the natural, true karmic flow of change or awakening or resolution and completion that exists in any given situation. It can be extremely challenging to either party or parties wherever a particular position is being held with attachment or rigidity because pennyroyal will ultimately dissolve any attachments and free the mind, heart, and emotions, and soul to grasp a greater complexity of truth than was previously understood in that situation. Therefore, pennyroyal has a very powerful catalytic capacity and should be taken with an awareness of this.

Now, in and of itself, pennyroyal will not produce an unwelcome catalytic experience but it is one of those essences that work very much with the Will---the desire to know and the choice to know. It works with the invocation of higher realms of objective knowledge beyond the personality self. Though the egoic self is not excluded, it must be open to a new emanation of truth within the personal experience whereas the personality often must completely release attachment to experience the truth of pennyroyal. Pennyroyal is not advised for people who are not sincere about their pursuit of truth. Though it will not harm them, it's better used by those whose lives are focused on an ongoing basis toward a lifestyle that holds truth as a constant choice or process that can be successfully achieved, or in the beginnings of those lifestyle beginnings or changes.

This flower is wisdom, discernment, the heirophant, the higher knowledge, the arcanum---many aspect of the Kabbala tradition or the ancient realms of knowledge---not so much old testament (it's quite flexible in terms of old and new testament as we think of it in Western culture) but it's a keeper of certain doorways in the energy bodies, chakras, meridians, to that place where an archetypal blueprint of objective truth exists in the human soul or the human incarnation in the greater realm of creation itself. Pennyroyal has a sacred purpose on the planet.

This saprophytic plant is a detoxifier and aids in the assimilation of elemental energies through the nervous system. It's good for mental detoxification---not so much for stress residue, but in the directions of inorganic thoughts that don't really relate to your unique personal makeup, thoughts, or beliefs. It functions like a solvent to break down residue in our subtle bodies and (fifth, sixth, seventh) chakras. Residue as in outmoded thoughts and beliefs, false internalized images, ideas, words---other people's words that have carried alot of energy that aren't healthy or appropriate (like negative energy from relationships). Clears this residue out so one can open up, receive and assimilate energy within their natural environment more effectively.

This plant is about stillness---knowing how to become small and still and energetically very quiet---not invisible but to be still, blend in, and learn how to become at one, similar to when a deer lies down. It's about the power and wisdom of stillness. It's very good for people who have a hard time doing that at all, like those who are compensating for their wounding by being overly active and busy.

So rabbitbrush tends to work with the little kid part of ourselves through getting people to start to become curious---it brings up those instincts of that quiet looking around, stopping to notice things. An excellent essence for people who run addictive activity behavior patterns and have become desensitized to the present moment and subtle nuances of what's around them. It's definitely a "stop and smell the roses" kind of essence.

Psychologically, it functions at a much different level because it touches the instinctual/little kid self with innocence and a sense of wonder, like when you see a wild animal and it looks you in the eye---working with that type of seeing, awareness, and feeling. It's not about the "fear caller" but is good for people with fear and trauma residue. This can apply to situations of being exposed to predator energy but not avoiding that energy. It helps one use stillness as part of being a whole medicine person, teaching the necessity of stillness to fully understand anything at all. It opens up higher listening faculties of the soul to discern energetic patterns happening around you. A beautiful comparison is the silence that happens when snow falls, almost like one can become so still that even intense activity takes on a gentle, calming, soothing quality. Good for those who get freaked out by the pace and rapid change in our modern times.

This essence deals with a sense of personal direction from within a context of forgiveness. Ranger Buttons by nature are an assertive flower but also a very gentle flower that holds an energy of not compromising. They are in service to the higher levels of old soul consciousness in which you honor your direction with self-forgiveness and allow the God force to come in to meet you and find you in such a way as to be uncompromisingly in your truth while recognizing old mistakes and imbalances.

This is a very gentle, nurturing flower and a gentle heart stimulant. Its best use is for bringing the heart back from disappointment, hurt, loss, and rejection. It assists the heart in touching deeply into the soul with more trust and confidence that the nature of reality here on the planet is truly benign---that the lessons we must learn are often generated by where don't love ourselves.

Fear of giving. Lessons of compassion. This plant is somewhat astringent or stringent in nature vibrationally. The lessons it has to teach would be better applied to those of your grandmothers, people who feel the need to be stingy or protective or cautious based on a distrust that there is a flowing love around them. At the same time this plant has lessons to teach around compassion and understanding of restriction as a positive force containing energy and focusing it into the future when conditions around it are not conducive to a more expansive vibration. A complex plant for anyone to work with and would be best recommended in cases of stinginess, tightness, and self-protective fear around giving at any expansive level. It helps people with those symptoms understand the underlying compassion that drives the contraction that they are operating with.

Digestion and assimilation of life experiences. Open to new cycles. The first word we're going to present here is decomposition. St. John's Wort functions within the psyche very much like an organic compost bin---it breaks down forms of organic material. The purpose of this flower is to assist in the proper assimilation and digestion of any organic spiritual or emotional human experience. WE could stop there because that pretty much says it all but the problem is this: most people are not really familiar with the process of truly digesting a life experience correctly. So, St. John's Wort as is the common wisdom, takes a while to be effective in terms of releasing depression. Depression is the inability to properly digest an experience within the physical , mental, and emotional realms of imagination. So, it has a current context of application but for anyone who is familiar with the process of digesting, assimilating, and completing cycles of experience, this essence then takes on a different synergistic function.

This essence is that moment in which a person fully evacuates their bowels and begins to experience the next stage of opening to taking in more food, more energy, more nutrients, in anticipation of the next digestive cycle. This is the hidden meaning of St. John's Wort and its obscured by the current application. So for those who know they are capable or have processed enough organic emotional material in their life, this plant is a very potent agent of introducing new cycles of opening to receive. That really is its purpose. It's been used though, to assist in the decomposition of blocked, constipated experience.

This essence is very good for healing negative childhood memories, abuse, fragmentation between heart and mind, and helps create a context for bringing those negative memories out of suppression, storage, or shock, and begin to cleanse, move, and heal. It goes over into the realm of other essences that invoke magic and beauty but works specifically on levels of inner child where it needs to grow out of those negative experiences. It works effectively on the soul coming out of deep wounded experiences as well (child is the doorway to the soul). It focuses more directly from the standpoint of getting in touch with the truth of who we are so we can process through and be free from the fear that's lodged in the psyche from the negative childhood experiences, especially those moments or points of vulnerability or sensitivity.

This plant is challenging. It's a multidimensional plant yet it is not a master plant within the devic realm and is not an organizer plant per se. When it's timely for it to surface, it tends to want to bring forward the deeper mysteries of the plant kingdom as it manifests on earth. It tends to be a very finicky and sensitive plant conditional to a multitude of factors that are hard to describe within this summary. The best way to put it would be to say that every aspect of nature that you can identify, factors into Sierra Rein Orchid, plus there are multidimensional factors of intention within a given plant community which also has to do with the human element as well.

It could best be called a barometer of transformational intent within a specific plant environment to serve the greater hierarchy of humanity and to serve the breakdown of that hierarchy into a better grasping of compassion on the planet as a whole. It's probably not an essence that will appeal to many people because it's best use has to do with recognizing past misuses of power. Sierra Rein Orchid shows up as an opportunity to grasp proper use of power within the incredibly sensitive recognition of that which exists all around it at a given time based on the conditions which prevail at that time. It then functions from the higher heart, higher mind aspect of discernment of reality based on larger patterns distilled into smaller patterns as the exist in that precise moment of time.

This essence is about abundance---sweet, Goddess love and abundance. It's almost like the cornucopia energy of the gorgeous abundance of the devas, all the plants, life forms, and levels of consciousness that inhabit the earth plane. It's very good for circulation of energy in the body and amping up all meridians in general.

This essence is a tonifier for the subtle bodies like an astringent for excess stress and thought patterns that have been dissipated by too much ingratitude or denial. It works best in synergy with at least four or five other essences. As a synergizer it helps re-establish a sense of truth, balance, being back in the body, contained and grounded in your actual experience.

On a soul level it helps to alchemically resonate into what the soul's real truth is and may be one of the first elements that a person interacts with that brings in deeper, more specific truth of their soul's identity as compared to their personality's adaptive identity. It can definitely assist in coming out of excess mode in alot of areas---more up toward the mental, where thought patterns tend to slide out of nurturing, warm, strengthening environments and into more aloneness, isolation, loss of sense of self-worth or relationship, or sense of meaning to things around you. This subtle synergizer doesn't overwhelm the etheric body but it definitely will remind us "Isn't there someplace else you'd rather be?" or "Isn't there someplace else you should be?" than where you are right now?

The leaves of squaw carpet are pointed. This tends to be a reminder or synergizer that nudges a person's energy toward different perspectives or going inward. It's not the first line of recourse for serious stress, drama, abuse from drugs or any form of extra agent abuse. It's more of a second or third stage recovery essence where the body can take in subtle influences.

This is a very misunderstood plant essence. It tends to be ascribed to the higher octave realms of human imagination, when in fact, star lavender is in service to the heart. Its primary reason for being on the planet is to remind people of the need to remember why they incarnated in the first place. It's greatest point of service to humanity is to say "you were once a star, why did you come here?". In that reminder, it unfolds a vast panoply of questions that all human beings must then entertain.

Reweaves and rebuilds chakras to connect with soul, heart, higher heart and mind. Star Solomon's Seal works in the etheric body in which the chakras can sustain the most damage. I re-weaves the abilities of the chakras to function. It purifies the innate structure or webbing of the chakras to be able to pulsate with the specific life-force of the soul and the heart, higher heart, and higher mind. If the chakras are clear, clean, and strong, or have been rebuilt back to that point, this essence also can serve as a doorway into higher realms of consciousness, understanding, the grasping of larger universal patterns of manifestation and the purpose of God's creation---but this is a less likely effect as one would have had to have been preparing for quite some time.

On a more mundane level, you could say that Star Solomon's Seal functions to bind or hold together different aspects of a formula---especially the more complex formulas. This plant is going to make sure that the chakras are energetically working the best they can with the complex, multi-faceted aspects of a given formula. It can be metaphorically though of as a thickener in a soup or something which will hold elements in a fluid suspension. There are other sides of Star Solomon's Seal but it's not possible to address those at this time.

The first thing that needs to be understood about sunflower is that this is one of those ancient plants that just loves to show up on the planet and have a really good time with human beings. Sunflower is a highly communicative plant that sincerely enjoys the dialogue of emotions that it arouses in humans. In as much as it often exists at eye level with humans it's one of the few plants that actively takes on an equal status and in doing so, asserts a life force that engages people to wonder "What is the element here?" What's really taking place is that Sunflowers are almost like a hidden race that embody themselves as flowers---fields in Europe/France speak of this kind of collective identity.

The sunflower often is seen as a source of renewal, radiance, life force, abundance, and prosperity. Again, the multiple potentials of the soul to come forward and experience all of life but within the essence use of Sunflower itself there's a much deeper purpose that it would like to introduce and that is this: The sunflower is a witness, it observes humans. The sunflower exists as an eye from the elemental realm, comes forward and sees human beings. It's trying to teach humans to observe, witness, digest, and absorb many aspects of the long history of human experience...to begin arriving at neutrality. Ultimately the tonic of the sunflower essence brings the nervous system to neutrality and to an appreciation of the long history and complexity of human cultures and many forms of intelligence that have been embodied on the planet.

In the multiple seeds that the sunflower presents is trying to say "I have witnessed many forms of human culture and they all are valid. Don't take yourselves too seriously". Sunflower is a tremendously mature wisdom presented through the plant realm. Its strong stalk while reaching very high is metaphorical in terms of the ultimate human experience. Being able to observe and witness with neutrality the complexities of the incarnated human experience, while radiating out a sense of gratitude to the Sun---to the source of life on this planet---to that which animates life on this planet. These are primal dialogues of eternal gratitude for the creation that manifests physical form on this planet.

Break through frozen states to find contentment of belonging. Touch deprivation.

This essence is best used at this time for people who have experienced touch deprivation in their lives. It's about the tendrils that reach out and twine with others. In our culture, touch is shrunk down to a minimal expression and Sweet Pea revives the need for touch, communication through touch, for belonging. As the flowers express the contentment of belonging and the knowledge of where one does truly belong. So, Sweet Pea also gently addresses the need for the soul to break out of frozen, static, paralyzed, traumatized, nervous system states to begin asking from the heart "Where do I belong? Where do I most feel comfortable? Where would I like to reach out and touch all forms of life around Me?"

This essence helps you remember your roots, your origins, your original purpose and reason for being here. It moves this energy through your nervous system, up through your root chakra to help it find its way all the way through the chakras and into the fifth, sixth, and seventh chakras. It definitely is about expression and ownership of lineage and a regaining of purpose from within that realm.

This plant works with the lungs to help loosen grief, lubricate emotions, and help release deep-seated body toxins---more toward that which has been internalized emotionally rather than physically though it does have a physical counterpart as well by helping to nudge toxins out. It's a soother, lubricator, calmative, and can bring you into connection with the faery realm so it's good for inner child work. It helps restore a sense of simple innocence, purity, childhood slumber, and safety but doesn't take you all the way up into high realms of magic.

This essence stimulates the higher mind to be open to holding a clear vision of its potential while continuing to work with the unfinished aspects of the denser emotional, physical, heart, and mental aspects of creation. Wild peony could be called the patience flower in the sense that it operates from that integration point of higher heart, higher mind that needs to be present for the emotional body to feel welcomed and encouraged to come forward after a difficult stage of healing. It invokes hope.

This essence imparts strength with flexibility and gentleness, especially in processing experience and information maturing into creating new structures of identity. It assists in understanding and being able to stay strong in one's goals and purpose while remaining flexible with the self when you've had to go through complex learning experiences which may have taken you off course. This flexibility allows you to see the bigger purpose and greater meaning of things and not have to be rigid or fearful that you can get back on course. It helps you to deal with resentment, judgment, fear, etc.

This essence re-energizes deeper cycles of energy in the body and soul for revitalization. It embodies renewed faith, hope, and trust. It assists in the idea or image of a new day dawning---a sunrise---as the sun first comes up and touches the earth and dew and warms and energizes things. It especially is for people who are coming out of the dark night of the soul type of experience and need to hold in their hearts that a new day can dawn and these deep, intense, painful phases are not permanent.

This is an extremely potent essence which should not be taken casually. It has very deep roots into shamanic medicine and can be used to bring people back from shock and severe trauma. On a lesser basis, it should only be used by people whose energy bodies are strong enough to call forth their memories of past life and karmic structures they've been working with in order to begin moving them back into conscious expression and form to allow those old energies and knowledge to become more usable and to contribute to a person's momentum in a given lifetime. It's good for memory in general, but again should be taken very carefully.

It's definitely not indicated for casual use or for people who are way out of their bodies. It could be extremely jarring and unhealthy for someone whose sense of emotional memory in a given lifetime is impaired and for someone who has blocked out significant periods of life as it could prove severely disruptive. However, for those doing deep integrative work this can provide sometimes startling, but very potent nudge into deeper earth, karma, and many other incarnation memories. This is a gateway/doorway essence to be used with caution.

This flower addresses innocence and it's very important to define this innocence in a unique way. Woodland Star hold forth the promise of a renewal based on innocence being recognized. If innocence is not recognized within the self, renewal will not happen. This essence says "You are at a point of choice. I am the crossing in the road that you must address". This plant is assertive and in fact quite demanding to those who can resonate into its essence because they feel with this plant the need to come to a point of resolution. It however, will never judge---of course no plant ever would---but we say this in service to the fact that Woodland Star holds within it a unique aspect of the green force of nature that basically says "I will keep coming back". So this essence is quite strong and assertive but works through the prospect of forgiveness for all inherited mis-patterns.

This essence has to do with the receiving of nutrients---emotional and physical (more), and mental and spiritual (less)---with spiritual life-force dynamics added in. It aids in opening up to receive. It helps rebuild in coming out of deep cycles of wounding. It's definitely good for the appetite--the appetite in all things and opening to the desire to consume experience and expand.
